Why do you refer to yourself as this one?

It is how th-....how I had always spoken, as a king.

That's interesting. I never heard anyone use that terminology in the courts back home.

As a king, it established a particular distance between myself and all others. Not referring overmuch to my person as "I" was a way of elevating myself above the grand majority who did....to underline my royal standing of absolute power.

As a dragon, speaking in the same way now is meant to reverse that elevation. This one is no longer a human being. This one is not an "I" but a creature distanced and divorced from the humanity that "I" implies.

If that does not make sense, this one will understand. 'Tis simply an old habit in many ways.
