I, ah, I came to thank you for giving things to the other teams to help. Is this a bad time?

[He's turning to see her, shuffling his huge bulk over, only to stop dead and stare at her bandages.]

[Anger again, swelling up, burning away the depression. He forces his blood-red eyes to close, and holds tight to his composure like a human knight would a sword. Yet even so, his talons dig deep grooves into the stone floor beneath him.]

This one is.....angered, by what has transpired. That is all.

I think a good number of us are. But more importantly, that isn't painful, is it? Your claws...

This one does not care. I will not attack anything living to vent this rage.

They'll heal with time, I'm sure. Please don't worry.

They should have been healed immediately. So do not.....you are my friend. This one will worry about his friends if he decides to.

At the very least, there are things to help with the pain.

[Billows out smoke from his nostrils, and makes a grumpy noise. Then he stares, hard, at the walls he's scratched up.]

This one believes in hard lessons. Games should not always be simple or without some element of risk. Torture, however, has little purpose; when orchestrated for the amusement of a Echo, none at all.

[He lumbers off a little, starts to pace.]

Even so, there is only so much to be done about those sorts of competitions. This is to be accepted and endured, if only for now. Until a way, a solution, is found.

[A swipe at a pile of gold. The coins scatter to the floor, and he broods over the mess.]

But this goes beyond the pale. Those that have become patrons, we could not provide for our teams as we should be able to, as we desire to. The competition is over. My precious team, my friends, the other teams, they are suffering even worse than what has been unavoidable thus far.

[bloodbiter]

[a pause of surprise, she hadn't realized he's the patron for one of the new teams yet]

It is rather unfair, but... If it is any consolation, I think the worst of it is over.
